1. Not dead, I promise.

This blog hasn’t been updated in a while (neither has the site to be honest), because i’m busy doing contract work and paying the bills. I will (hopefully) get back to making some posts here shortly.

Until then, you can always follow @siliconfreaks on twitter. It’s much easier to tweet 140 characters at a time than it is to maintain this blog. When I have something significant to update, I will of course post it here as well.

  2. Some updates to the Image Viewer.

  3. Updating the look of the comments. Previous were just sort of ugly and not very legible — especially in long threads. Still a work in progress as always.

  4. Redesigning the Games page (still a work in progress), I said it would change pretty drastically from the last post, and it has. I’m debating adding a ‘Featured’ games rotation to the page, I’m not sure if that would be misconstrued as ‘paid’ advertising or not. Tricky line to walk, but I really just want a place to highlight games we think are going to be awesome, even if they’re fairly new or most people haven’t heard of them yet.

  5. This blog has been silent as of late. My fault. Unfortunately not a whole lot to show for it yet. I do have A new 80, but that’s not really on topic. Here’s a picture of the games listing, (which will change quite drastically between now and launch) doing what it does best, listing games.

  7. Comments! Infinitely threaded comments — that support deep linking! The design isn’t nailed down 100%, but hey pretty pictures.
The more observant of you may notice that some of the comments have a tag, LOL (laugh out loud), INF (informational), NWS (not work safe!). This will allow you to do some basic content filtering (preferences page pending), as well as contribute to other secret things.
Also worthy of note is that every single comment has a Sitemark flag on it, whee! The system supports deep linking for comments anywhere in a thread, so you can just jump to the comment you want/have marked. Note too this is in admin view, which i just realized but am too lazy to log in as a test user and take a normal screen shot of. That is all for now.

  8. Incoming Pockets of Inactivity

A lot of the rest of the stuff I want to show on this blog is either heavily under development, something I’m keeping secret, or other. Of course all the really cool features fall under one of these categories, so keep checking back periodically to see if maybe you can catch a glimpse of something really neat.

  9. Game Info Page. Details about the game, links to media etc.

  10. The Sliver Lining

Just a quick reminder to everyone, today is the 10th of July. Activision finally got its ass-cheeks unclenched and allowed the good folks at Phoenix Development to release their 10-year-in-the-making fan-made Kings Quest game!

    Download it Here.
